Report: Hybrid cars safer than regular cars

Hybrid cars may be safer than traditional cars, according to an insurance industry report released on Thursday.

The report found that occupants in hybrdi cars were 25 percent less likely to get hurt.

The Highway Loss Data Institute says the weight of the hybrid car's battery may explain why it performed better in crashes.
