Six arrested over graffiti on Highway 101

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.

CHP officers from the Redwood City area saw four people tagging billboards near the eastside of Highway 101 between Whipple Avenue and Holly Street around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, CHP officials said.

Officers surrounded the suspected four taggers, who ran and hid into the nearby brush. They were arrested minutes later and two juveniles were also found in a getaway vehicle at the north end of a bicycle path that runs along the highway, CHP officials said.

The group consisted of 18- and 19-year-olds and the two juveniles. The names of the adult suspects were not immediately available.

Additional law enforcement agencies were called to assist including members from the Redwood City Police Department, the San Mateo Gang Task Force and additional CHP units.
