According to a report published by Seattle's KOMO-TV, 52-year-old Thomas Phillips was one of two men killed when a small plane crashed in northern Michigan.
Phillips had worked for Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft for almost 20 years before moving over to Amazon to help develop the company's cloud-based technology, KOMO reported.
Crews found wreckage of the plane, identified by the Associated Press as a single-engine plane, Sunday afternoon on the Lake Huron shore in Michigan after it failed to reach its destination.
