A man was shopping with his wife and while waiting for her, got into some kind of altercation in the parking lot around 10:25 p.m. That's when a man pulled a gun on him and shot him in the leg.
The police lieutenant said the victim got into his car and started to drive himself home to get away, but a suspect got in a vehicle and followed him and continued shooting at him at the corner of Washington Avenue and Lewelling Boulevard in San Leandro.
Police investigated the area of the Walmart parking lot where the shooting took place. They say they're looking at video footage and taking eye-witness statements to try to determine exactly what happened.
Police said the man was taken to the hospital and he is expected to recover from his injury.
