Pacifica police say they shot and killed a pit bull after it lunged at an officer. It happened Tuesday morning on Adobe Drive.

A homeowner called 911 after the pit bull entered her home through an open door and attacked a corgi.

When they arrived, police say the pit bull let go of the smaller dog and started towards an officer. The officer then fired at the dog, killing it.

According to the Humane Society, the dog had no prior history of problems.
