March 15 is World Consumer Rights Day

There were no parades or blockbuster sales, but March 15th is a day to re-enforce the idea that consumers have basic rights, like access to goods and services, and choices in the marketplace.

The day was inspired by the words of the late President John F. Kennedy. In a 1962 address to Congress Kennedy said: "Consumers by definition include all of us... Yet they are the only important group... whose views are often not heard."

I couldn't agree more.
