Memorial ceremony Saturday for Hal Brown

SAN RAFAEL, Calif.

Brown, 66, died of cancer at his home on March 2. He was the longest-tenured supervisor in Marin County history.

He was in his seventh term and was first appointed in 1983 by his cousin Jerry Brown during the governor's first term.

In lieu of flowers, Brown's family has asked that donations be made to the Marin Valentine's Ball Foundation, P.O. Box 1612, San Anselmo, CA, 94979. The foundation provides benefits to local non-profit and community organizations.

Doors will open at the Veterans' Memorial Auditorium, located at 10 Avenue of the Flags in San Rafael, at 10:30 Saturday and the memorial begins at 11 a.m.
