"If you know me, you know I'm going to get to the bottom of this; we're going to find out who you is, you will be brought to justice," Kathy Morris said.
They were a mother's words to her son's killer.
Tyrell Smith, 24, was shot and killed while pushing his 1-year-old son, Kyrell, in this toy car. It happened shortly after 3 p.m. on Fenham Street near the Lockwood Gardens housing complex.
Morris rushed to her son's home when she heard he had been shot. A neighbor told her what happened.
"Somebody who knew him spoke and he went by and then she heard shots and then she ran out there and seen the baby so somebody did come grab the baby," Morris said.
Morris didn't get to see her son's body. The coroner had already taken it. She says it hasn't fully hit her yet.
"He was lovable...big boy, but a big old teddy bear," Morris said.
