He called 911 from his cellphone for help. The fire department came out to rescue him and initially could not find him. They turned on their sirens and asked him to tell them if they were getting close. He was found near Foster City Boulevard and eastbound Highway 92 in Foster City.
The car was found nearby and is being checked for evidence. The CHP got the call at 1:49 a.m., but San Mateo Police are the lead agency in charge of the case.
