The Bay Area wildlife rescue group Wildcare has helped nurse a baby river otter from Greenbrae back to health.

Neighbors say the mother disappeared a few days ago and two of the baby otter's siblings had died. Good Samaritans worked to rescue the 5-7-week-old baby, which was barely alive.

The otter is now at the Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care Center, where it will be raised and then returned to the Bay Area for release.
