Fare increases for transit agencies taking effect July 1

SAN FRANCISCO

In San Francisco, adult fast passes will increase $2 to $74 a month, and Muni-only passes will be $64. Passes for youth, seniors and disabled riders will also increase by $1, to $22.

BART fares will increase 1.4 percent, or about 5 cents for the average fare, according to BART officials.

Golden Gate Transit bus and ferry fares will increase by 5 percent.

On Caltrain, prices will increase for people buying paper tickets, 25 cents for a one-way ticket and 50 cents for a Day Pass.

In addition, the discount for eight-ride tickets will be reduced from 15 percent off the one-way fare to 7.5 percent. The validity period of the tickets will also be cut in half, to 30 days.

For users of Clipper transit cards, the amount deducted for passes and tickets will be adjusted automatically.
