Studies show women benefit from moderate drinking

OREGON

One study out of Oregon finds that post-menopausal women who had a few drinks each week may slow their bone loss and prevent osteoperosis.

Another study looking at Swedish women shows women who drink moderately decreased their risk for rheumatoid arthritis compared to non-drinkers.

Doctors say alcohol does raise estrogen levels and good cholesterol, but on the down side, it also raises breast cancer risks and obesity.
