New scanner can detect skin cancer

Now there is a simple and painless test that can help doctors diagnose melanoma -- the deadliest form of skin cancer.

It's a full body scanner that can detect melanoma even before you see it on your skin. Doctors say it's especially helpful if you have lots of moles. One woman said a scan found her cancer and may have saved her life.

"It's pretty much skin cancer that's invading certain areas of the skin and I'm just going to have to go to a surgeon oncologist," said Kelly Norvell, a patient.

A scan takes about one hour, but patients can get results the very same day.
