Family asking for witness in kid shooting

A 5-year-old was shot in the neck in East Oakland this afternoon but is in stable condition.

The family of a 5-year-old girl who was shot in the neck is asking witnesses to come forward.

The 5-year-old girl was caught in the cross fire during a drive-by shooting in East Oakland Saturday afternoon. Officers responded to the shooting at 2:43 p.m. in the 1700 block of 50th Avenue. The young girl is still in stable condition at Children's Hospital in Oakland.

Police say they don't have much information to work with about the shooter or the suspect's car. It's described only as a late model Lexus with no hub caps.
