The incident happened last night just before midnight on California Street. The boy was at a baby sitter's house when a pit bull inside the home mauled him. The boy was bitten on the head.
He was taken to the hospital in a private car and his eyelid was re-attached early Sunday morning. Contra Costa County animal control is in possession of the dog.
