A walk across the Golden Gate Bridge was one of 20 walks held nationwide as part of an effort to bring attention to the civil unrest in Syria and help injured or malnourished children there.
Participants also demanded global action to remove Syrian President Bashar Assad from office. The United Nations has declared a humanitarian crisis in Syria. For each person who registered for Saturday's walk, $5 was given to UNICEF to provide aid in Syria.Group raises money for Syrian children
