A San Francisco theater, which serves as a central venue for independent films in the city, is closing its doors for good.

The Lumiere Theater on California Street will show its last picture "The Intouchables" Sunday at 8:30 p.m.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Landmark Theatres, which has operated The Lumiere since 1991, has lost its lease and could not come to terms with the landlord.
