Wednesday night a march got underway in the city of Richmond to protest Chevron's response to the refinery fire that sickened 15,000 people in August.

The demonstration started in the afternoon at the Richmond BART Station and culminated with a protest outside the refinery gates.

The demonstrators are demanding that Chevron install an air quality monitoring system. They also want more compensation given to residents affected by the fire's toxic smoke. A Chevron spokesperson told ABC7 News that it is negotiating with the Richmond city officials to implement a new air monitoring system.
