Oakland police officers help deliver baby

OAKLAND, Calif.

The officers were at a gas station on Golf Links Road when a man flagged them down around 6:40 p.m., telling them his wife was in labor.

Oakland police spokesperson Johnna Watson says the officers called for medical help, but before Oakland fire and paramedic crews arrived, the officers helped deliver a 7 pound, 9 ounce healthy baby boy.

Part of an officer's first-aid training is the basics of how to deliver a baby.
