Woman finds lost wedding album owner in India

FREMONT, Calif.

On Tuesday, a parent found the Indian wedding album under a tree outside the Kindercare Child Care Center and Fremont police were asking for the public's help in finding the owner. The front of the album said "Happy Wedding 12/04/2008 in USA," with a wedding picture. It also said "Vijay weds Ranjit" and it was full of wedding pictures. Officers tried to locate the owners, but were unsuccessful.

A few hours after we ran our story, a Good Samaritan called our newsroom saying she had found the owners through Facebook. The woman, who is a Facebook employee, said she searched through the social networking site until she found a man who she thought looked like the man in the cover photo.

After sending the owner an email, the woman discovered he was in India. He told her the album had been in a storage locker and he figured the storage unit was probably broken into. The married couple had no idea it was missing.

If the storage locker was indeed broken into, anyone with information on who the culprit may be is urged to contact the Fremont Police Department at 510-790-6920.
