Wanted parolee arrested after ramming SFPD car

SAN FRANCISCO

The 24-year-old has man has local ties to a gang and had just been released from federal prison this week. He was wanted because he didn't go to a parole meeting. Police spotted him at 3 p.m. and he was apprehended at 8 p.m.

When he saw police he took off in his green Mustang and ran it into a police car in the process. He got away, but police got a tip that he was in a home. Crisis negotiators were brought out to the scene and a perimeter was set up. The man surrendered peacefully.

Police have not released the suspect's name. His prior prison conviction was for firearms violations. No police officers was hurt during the arrest.
