A strike by crab fishermen is over. Crabbers reached a deal Tuesday with seafood distributors and are getting ready to head back out to sea.

Boaters have refused to set their traps since last Wednesday to protest a drop in price from $3 to $2.50 per pound.

But a delay in the crab season north of the Gualala River put the boaters in a stronger bargaining position.

Fish wholesalers agreed Tuesday to continue paying $3 a pound, ensuring crab on dinner tables for Christmas.
