Frosty temperatures felt across Bay Area

SAN JOSE, Calif.

In San Jose near the border with Saratoga, the cold weather left a calling card, not a broken pipe, but a leaky pipe in at least one homeowner's water heater. "Colder water coming into the house, you know the groundwater supply is colder, that's when the older water heaters expire or start to leak," explained Chris Stadler with Payless Plumbing.

Cars, lawns, and bushes all around the city were coated with frost. "I first realized it when I walked out this morning and it reminded me of Colorado. I lived in Colorado for a long time. It definitely felt like that," San Jose resident Jeff Baker said, adding that he went back inside to put a sweatshirt on.

More rain is expected in the Bay Area late Thursday with a chance of snow at higher elevations.
