Good Samaritan finds man's lost wedding ring on I-80

KINGVALE, Calif.

Snow chain installer Douglas Benedetti says he was working on East Interstate 80 near Kingvale when he saw a man jogging up and down the shoulder in a panic. He had apparently lost his wedding ring which fell off while he was installing chains without gloves.

Benedetti says after the man drove off, he decided to help. "I decided to go look for the ring because I knew approximately where it was. I was hunting with my headlamp and hand light. It took me less than an hour and I found it next to a semi-truck. It was slightly submerged in the snow," he recalled.

He found it and now, he's hoping someone will recognize the ring. It's platinum with the inscription, "Lisa, 5th June, 2010."

Benedetti thinks the couple was traveling from the Bay Area to Lake Tahoe for the weekend.
