Separate shootings send three to hospitals

OAKLAND, Calif.

Police were called to a report of a shooting in the 1600 block of 36th Avenue a short time after 10 p.m. Saturday, Officer Kevin McDonald said.

Officers located two victims who had been struck by the gunfire. Both were taken to local hospitals in stable condition.

Around 12:10 a.m., officers responded to another shooting in the 7800 block of Ney Street, where one person had been shot. That victim also went to a hospital in stable condition to be treated for a gunshot wound, McDonald said.

No further information was immediately available.
