Body found at Petaluma recycling center

PETALUMA, Calif.

A few workers at the center told ABC7 News that the body was found inside a large building onsite. The center serves as a recycling transfer station and the building is where a lot of the materials are taken to be sifted through and the materials sorted.

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Department is on scene and they're trying to determine how the body got to the center.

Police say the body is an adult male who may have been killed and dumped there. He also could have climbed into a recycling bin to stay warm and ended up freezing to death. At this point, deputies are not calling it a homicide until they get autopsy results.
