Big demand for flu vaccine at Kaiser clinics

SAN FRANCISCO

Officials at Kaiser Permanente say the sudden increase in demand is causing some spot shortages of vaccine at their flu clinics.

They say they're moving reserves of vaccine to pharmacies where the demand is greatest and that they're ordering more from manufacturers.

Kaiser says it's vaccinated nearly 1.2 million of its members against the flu since October.
