Sentencing underway for convicted toll plaza killer

MARTINEZ, Calif.

Nathan Burris, 49, is representing himself in court right now, says he'll probably die in prison of natural causes because there's no such thing as the death penalty in California.

Burris shot and killed his ex-girlfriend and a man he thought was her lover at the Richmond-San Rafael toll plaza in 2009. Burris says he has no remorse or regret, because its "it's all in the past". This morning, a judge denied his motion for a new trial.
