Volunteers collected butterfly larvae from Coyote Ridge where they are plentiful and took them to a dedicated 116 acre preserve on Tulare Hill.
The area has been specially prepared with the reintroduction of cattle grazing on the hill. Livestock eat invasive grasses that damage the butterflies' habitat.
