Pedestrian suffers major injuries in collision

VALLEJO, Calif.

A 21-year-old Vallejo man was driving a Nissan Altima on eastbound Springs Road near Columbus Parkway when he collided with a female pedestrian in the roadway, according to police.

Police said the driver stopped and helped the pedestrian and called 911. He showed no signs of intoxication, cooperated with officers arriving on the scene and was released.

The victim was taken to John Muir Hospital where she remained for treatment as of this morning.

Police have so far been unable to identify the pedestrian. She was wearing a black jacket with an orange interior and patterned white pajama pants at the time of the collision.
