It happened just before midnight in front of a market on East 14th Street near 167th Avenue. A witness says a woman walking with a cane was hit by a car as it backed out of a parking space. The driver stopped for a moment, but then drove off.
The woman remains at a hospital with moderate injuries.
Police are looking for a faded blue Buick or Oldsmobile.
