In just the first 24 hours, lottery players snapped up $3.1 million in tickets, setting a national record. That number was up to $4 million as of Tuesday night.
There are 21,000 locations across the state selling tickets. Wednesday night's jackpot is $60 million and the odds of winning are 1 in about 175,000,000.
The drawing will take place in Sacramento at 7:59 p.m.
