Police investigating separate shootings that hospitalized two men

OAKLAND, Calif.

The first shooting was reported at about 3:55 p.m. in the area of Dowling Street and 83rd Avenue, Officer R. Bowden said.

Responding officers found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound, Bowden said.

He was transported to a hospital and is in stable condition, she said.

The other shooting occurred in the area of 43rd Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way at about 8:45 p.m., Bowden said.

Police were unable to make arrests in either shooting, and no suspect information was immediately available, Bowden said.

The shootings remain under investigation.
