Controversial billoard along 405 freeway removed

CULVER CITY, Calif.

On Tuesday, retailer JCPenney removed an ad that promoted a designer tea kettle because of its uncanny resemblance to Adolf Hitler.

The billboard along the 405 freeway in Culver City became a target of bloggers. Some think JCPenney knew about the resemblance to Hitler all along, and put it up to get free publicity.

The retailer denies that.
