Bay Area nurses and people who oppose the proposed Keystone XL Pipeline project marched across the Golden Gate Bridge.

They joined registered nurses across the U.S. who are stepping up their call on the Obama Administration to reject approval of the pipeline.

Demonstrators against the Keystone project protested at both Bay Area visits by President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden this month.

The Sonoma City Council also voted this week to send the president a letter saying it's opposed to the pipeline, which would stretch from Canada down to the Gulf of Mexico.
