Doctor helps stop Muni bus after collision with car

SAN FRANCISCO

The crash happened at Masonic Avenue and Oak Street around 6:30 p.m. According to a Muni spokesperson, a car made an illegal turn in front of the bus and the bus hit the car, then kept going.

Dr. Frank Primus was sitting in the back of the bus and ran to the front when he noticed the bus wasn't stopping. "There was nothing stopping the bus. I got up there and his eyes were awake. He was responsive. I asked him a couple questions to see if he's conscious and he was, and I literally put my foot over his and stopped it," he recalled.

The only injury was to the bus driver who was taken to the hospital with back pain.
