The emergency closure was activated to reduce or eliminate the potential for fire-related emergencies in Alum Rock Park, according to Alum Rock Park Ranger Duncan Skinner.
Temperatures are believed to reach 100 degrees with relative humidity at 16 percent and a wind speed off anywhere from 6 - 12 mph, according to Skinner.
The park is always closed on Mondays, so the closure will be in effect for two days.
Residents can call (408) 259-5477 to receive an updated status on the park's opening.
