Palo Alto's carry-out plastic bag ban starts Monday

PALO ALTO, Calif.

Under a new law, no retailers will be allowed to distribute them.

The law builds on a 2009 ordinance that barred only large grocery stores from supplying plastic bags.

Retailers will now have to start charging customers at least ten cents for reusable or paper bags.

Restaurants will have to start complying with the law on November 1st.
