Regional accrediting agency revokes City College of San Francisco accreditation

SAN FRANCISCO

The embattled school's accreditation will be terminated on July 31, 2014, according to the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges.

City College was placed on "show cause" status by the ACCJC last July and was required to file a report by March showing how the school planned to address problems identified by the commission.

The school is allowed to appeal the decision, and would remain accredited during the appeal process, according to the commission.

City College officials were not immediately available to comment on the ACCJC decision.
