Service was stopped after a pedestrian was struck around 7:15 a.m. by a northbound train passing through the Atherton station at 1 Dinkelspiel Station Lane, Caltrain spokeswoman Jayme Ackemann said.
Service was fully restored shortly before 9:30 a.m., Ackemann said.
Delays of up to an hour persist in the southbound direction, with lesser delays for northbound trains, Ackemann said.
Caltrain service does not stop at the Atherton station on weekdays, according to Ackemann.
