Army specialist saves man on subway tracks

WASHINGTON D.C.

On July 4, a man in a wheelchair accidentally rolled off a subway platform, while trying to get a closer look at a sign.

He fell face first, right next to a 750 volt third rail.

U.S. Army Spc. Michael Menchaca and another man jumped down to lift the man out. He's now recovering.

The Army specialist is being considered for a Soldier's Medal -- the Army's highest peacetime award.
