The stabbings, located at Alvord Lake near the intersection of Stanyan and Haight streets was reported at about 2:30 a.m., police said.
Officers responded to the scene and located a man and a woman suffering from stab wounds. The woman, possibly in her 40s, was stabbed in the chest. She was transported to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
The man is believed to be in his 20s or 30s and was stabbed in the abdomen. He was also transported to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Police are searching for two suspects who were last seen heading northbound on Stanyan Street in a maroon vehicle.
One suspect is described as a heavy-set black male with dreadlocks. The second suspect is described as a black male wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, police said. They fled in a maroon vehicle, last seen northbound Stanyon.
Police are continuing to investigate the stabbing and process the crime scene near the Haight Street entrance to Golden Gate Park.
