SanDisk collects 25,000 pounds of food for Bay Area families

SAN FRANCISCO

The company challenged employees to volunteer to help collect food donations for the Second Harvest Food Bank.

Part of that includes a "can-struction" contest to see who could build the coolest display with donated cans of food.

"We are very fortunate to have 25,000 pounds of food to donate to the Second Harvest Food Bank as well as $125,000 in matching funds for the volunteers' time," Sandisk Chief Strategy Officer Sumit Sadana said.

That all adds up to 250,000 meals for hungry Bay Area families.
