Electricity back on after apparent hit-and-run in SF

SAN FRANCISCO

Fire officials say it was just before 9 a.m. Sunday when a car careened out of control and slammed into a pole.

This happened on Selby Street and Evans Avenue alongside Highway 280.

The vehicle landed upside down and burst into flames.

PG&E responded to the fallen live power lines.

At one point, the crash knocked out power to nearly 4,000 people.

Service was resorted around 10:30 a.m.

The driver took off running.
