The Power of Possibilities luncheon drew a big crowd in Redwood Shores.
The event is sponsored by Community Gatepath, an organization that helps children and adults with disabilities live full and productive lives.
Among those honored Thursday, brothers Conner and Cayden Long, Sports Illustrated's 2012 SportsKids of the Year. The boys compete together in triathlons.
Connor says the events help show others that Cayden, who's confined to a wheelchair, is just like everyone else.
"He's just like us," Connor said. "He talks, he thinks like us. He has a brain, he's a normal boy. He has feelings, emotions and he might not seem smart to people but he's very smart."
Also attending the event, San Francisco 49ers legend Steve Young and Good Morning America co-host Josh Elliott, who met with ABC7 Morning News anchors Eric Thomas and Kristen Sze.
