Residents not allowed into apartment building after six-alarm fire

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.

Our media partner, the San Jose Mercury News reports: The owners of the complex are not allowing residents to go back into the building to get their belongings.

The owners of the Terrace Apartments, a four-story, 75-unit apartment building at 926 Woodside Road, are telling residents the building is badly damaged and may even be toxic following the fire on October 17.

They're offering to help residents get only a few boxes of their belongings out of the building.

Authorities say the fire appears to be accidental.
