Suspected DUI driver triggers Hayward outage

HAYWARD, Calif.

At one point 6,000 PG&E customers were in the dark but power has now been fully restored.

The driver took off on foot after hitting the pole on the 22000 block of Hathaway Avenue. He will be charged with DUI and hit-and-run.

Part of Hathaway Avenue remains closed for repair work.
