The woman has been transported to a hospital but the extent of her injuries is not yet clear, Santa Clara police Lt. Kurt Clarke said.
The shooting was reported at about 11:30 a.m. in the 3400 block of Granada Avenue, just east of Lawrence Expressway, according to Clarke.
Officers have arrested a man in connection with the shooting, Clarke said.
