Boy suspended for kissing classmate's hand

COLORADO

Officials at Lincoln School in Colorado Springs suspended Hunter Yelton for kissing his classmate on the hand.

Hunter's mom, Jennifer Saunders, says it's a crush and the girl didn't complain. She's outraged that officials are calling it sexual harassment and want the incident placed on her son's permanent record.

"This is taking it to an extreme that doesn't need to be met with a 6-year-old. Now my son is asking questions. 'What is sex mommy?' It should not ever be said, sex, in a sentence with a 6-year-old," she said.

Hunter has had some trouble at school in the past. He's been suspended for kissing the same girl on the cheek and for roughhousing.

The district superintendent says Hunter's actions fit the school policy description of "sexual harassment."
