San Jose ban on Styrofoam food containers begins

On Wednesday, San Jose will become the largest California city to eliminate foam containers for multi-restaurant chains.

Next year, smaller restaurants will have to comply. The goal is help protect the environment and keep Styrofoam, a product that takes a long time to degrade, out of landfills and waterways.

Dozens of Bay Area cities including San Francisco and Oakland already ban Styrofoam.
